Born in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba, on January 16 of 1976. Javier ventured into the music in 1990. He has shared scenarios and/or recorded with renowned local and international artists such as Eliades Ochoa, Cheo Feliciano, Sonora Poncena, Francisco Repilado (Company Segundo), Francisco (Pancho) Amat, William Cepeda, Coco Freeman, Sonora Carruseles, Salmerum Orchestra, Charlie and his Cuban Tribe, among others; in venues in Japan, England, Spain, Colombia, Canada, France, Switzerland, Holland, etc.
He has been considered, by the artists he has worked with, as one of the best performers of the Tres and the Cuatro Cubano; due to his broad knowledge, experience, and his capacity of accompaniment, creativeness and improvisation, skills that demonstrate in the performance of these instruments.
The prominent singer, Coco Freeman baptized Javier as "The Sun of Santiago".
