We hope everyone enjoyed a relaxing break and safe travels over the holidays. As we turn the page to a new year, we are excited to welcome our students and families back to Memorial Music and kick off another great season of learning, practicing, and making music together.
Thank you for being part of our community. Whether your student is just getting started or continuing their musical journey, we are grateful to work with such dedicated families and enthusiastic musicians.
Holiday Closure Reminder
Please note that Memorial Music will be closed on:

All lessons will resume on Saturday, January 3. We are looking forward to seeing everyone back in the
studio.
Looking Ahead to 2026
January is a great time to set musical goals. As lessons resume, instructors will be helping students:
- Re-establish consistent practice routines after the holiday break
- Set short-term goals for technique, repertoire, or performance
- Build confidence and momentum heading into the spring
Parents are always welcome to ask instructors for practice tips or guidance on how to support students at home. Small,
steady habits make a big difference over the course of the year.
Free Monthly Group Class – January
We are excited to announce our January Free Group Class, open to all current Memorial Music students.
Class Details
- Date: Sunday, January 25
- Time: 2:00–3:00 PM
- Instructor: Steffany Johnston (Piano & Voice)
- Title: Finding Your Voice
Whether you are a dedicated vocal student or simply curious about singing, this class is a great opportunity to explore
your voice in a supportive group setting. No prior vocal experience is required.
Practice Tip For January
Start Small, Stay Consistent
After a break, shorter daily practice sessions can be more effective than long, occasional ones. Even 10–15 focused
minutes a day helps rebuild muscle memory, listening skills, and confidence.
If students feel stuck or unsure where to begin, instructors are happy to help create a simple, realistic practice plan.
