Free Monthly Group Classes!
We are now offering monthly group classes. This is a free service for any of our students currently on auto-pay. All ages and skill levels are typically welcome, though our October class will be for ages 14 and up. Our October class will be held on Sunday, October 27th from 12:30-1:30pm. This class will be with one of our Piano/Vocal Instructors, Steffany. The name of the class is “Voice Tricks” and will focus on Vocals only. Any of our students ages 14 and up are welcome to attend.

Houston Symphony Tickets for Cirque For Kids now Available
Watch them “fly through the air with the greatest of ease” in this Cirque de la Symphonie concert designed especially for children aged 3–7! Jones Hall transforms into a magical circus wonderland as jugglers and aerial flyers perform dazzling feats, with live music by the Symphony. Make it a morning of musical fun with hands-on lobby activities, including our Instrument Petting Zoo. The event is on April 26, 2025. Practice Smarter, Not Harder: Tips for Effective Music Practice
Want to get the most out of your practice time? It’s not just about how long you practice, but how you practice. Instead of mindlessly repeating scales or songs, try these strategies:
- Focus on one area at a time: Choose one specific skill to improve each practice session. Maybe you work on playing with different dynamics (loud and soft) one day, and then focus on improving your finger speed the next. This keeps your practice interesting and helps you make progress faster.
- Record yourself: Listening to yourself play can be incredibly helpful! It gives you a fresh perspective and helps you identify what sounds good and what needs work. You can use your phone or any recording device to capture your playing, then listen back with a critical ear. You’ll be amazed at what you discover!
Remember: Effective practice is the key to unlocking your musical potential. By practicing with intention and focus, you’ll not only improve your skills faster, but you’ll also enjoy the process more.
